About

“[The professional businessman] is the great liberator, who in the short span of a century and a half has released men from bondage to their physical needs, has released them from the terrible drudgery of an eighteen-hour workday of manual labor for their barest subsistence, has released them from famines, from pestilences, from the stagnant hopelessness and terror in which most of mankind had lived in all the pre-capitalist centuries and in which most of it still lives today in non-capitalistic countries.” – Ayn Rand

This blog is an attempt to do two things: firstly, to show how indebted we are to all those business figures who have brought us, and continue to bring us,  life-saving medical discoveries and drugs, labour-saving and time-saving inventions, and the inspiration to reach for our own dreams. And secondly to assist business leaders, and those working for them, to develop moral pride in their careers – to show them that a principled business career is very much a moral undertaking.

The blog will bring articles and commentary to business owners, their employees, and anyone with an interest in defending business leaders and Capitalism from the frequent attacks by unionists, politicians and social commentators.

My eventual aim is to inspire business leaders to defend themselves the only way they can be defended: by repudiating the philosophy of selflessness and upholding a morality of rational and principled self-interest.
